Depending on the size of the bit, a piece of around 10 - 15 cm is removed from the bandage. Starting on the outside, the bandage is wrapped around the inside of the bit and then back to the outside. The bandage should be wrapped as tight as possible. If required, an additional layer can be added for extra softness.
